The hobby kennel of Esteban’s Affair in Hemer is dedicated to breeding Chihuahuas. The dogs grow up in the house and are firmly integrated into family life. Careful provision and early socialisation shape their upbringing; the animals gain experience at dog school, while running errands, on outings and in daily life together. Some of the dogs are also used in animal-assisted therapy in a retirement home. The kennel plans only one or two litters per year. This allows it to give each puppy individual attention and provide the adult dogs with the care they require. The focus is on a small number of well-prepared, self-confident puppies that are intended to move into their new homes as independent little personalities. The kennel remains in contact with the new owners and offers support if they have questions. It has the permit pursuant to § 11 of the Animal Welfare Act and is affiliated with the Chihuahua-Klub Deutschland e.V.
