The Cairn Terrier kennel of Colored Gemstones has been dedicated to preserving the original, lively and versatile nature of this breed since 2010. Here, the Cairn Terrier is valued as an attentive family and sporting dog, whose clear personality is just as important as its joy in exercise and shared activities. The kennel is affiliated with the Klub für Terrier von 1894 e.V. Health, stable character and functional, harmonious anatomy without exaggerations are the focus. Among other things, the breeding dogs are examined for patellar luxation and craniomandibular osteopathy. Sound knowledge of heredity, the breed standard, nutrition, dog behaviour and communication guides the breeding plans. The dogs’ sporting development is also adapted to their individual talents. The puppies grow up in the house and gradually become familiar with everyday noises, different people, their own pack and selected other dogs. Excursions, car journeys and experiences in fields and forests are part of their early socialisation. When selecting a suitable home, the kennel places great importance on getting to know each other personally and on ensuring that character, abilities and living situation remain a good match in the long term. The dogs are fed BARF.
