Nordenfjords GDH

Nordenfjords GDH is a dog breeder in Vestbjerg focusing on Gammel Dansk Hønsehund. The breeding program works to safeguard this relatively rare breed through breeding with quality and the continued existence of the breed in mind. The kennel has completed the DKK breeder training course, and puppies were born on 21 August 2025. In the breeding work, great emphasis is placed on healthy combinations. Suitable male dogs are selected with a view to reducing the risk of hereditary disorders, promoting healthy hips and keeping the inbreeding coefficient as low as possible. At the same time, priority is given to the breed’s traditional appearance with sturdy legs, a deep chest, long ears and its characteristic, melancholic gaze. The dogs are described as skilled hunting dogs and devoted family members in active homes that enjoy nature. The puppies first grow up in calm surroundings together with the dam, before they are given more space in the shared rooms of the home and access to a large woodland garden. Through daily, age-appropriate impressions and activities, they are gradually prepared for life with their future families.
