Mount Desert'S Maine Coon breeder in Prignano sulla Secchia · Italy

Mount Desert's is a Maine Coon cattery based in Prignano sulla Secchia, in the province of Modena. It has been active since 2003 and is registered with ANFI-FIFe; the person who runs it has completed an animal welfare course organized by the AUSL of Emilia-Romagna. The stated objectives are threefold: health, temperament and beauty, without prioritizing one at the expense of the others. The breeding cats test negative for FIV and FeLV, undergo regular ultrasounds for HCM and PKD, and have a genetic N/N test result for HCM (MybPC3 A31P mutation). The cattery is integrated into the home: the adults have protected outdoor spaces connected to the house, the kittens live in the home with the family and receive proper human imprinting from their first days. The diet is based on fresh meat, supplemented with vitamins and minerals. The kittens leave with a health record documenting their vaccinations and antiparasitic treatment, plus a contract in duplicate. They are delivered only to people who have contacted the cattery and have met in person.
