Los Gigantes Amigables is based in Drachtstercompagnie and currently focuses on the hobby breeding of small dachshunds without pedigrees. The previous breeding of large dogs has been discontinued because, according to the breeder, interest in the breed and the possibilities for suitable placement were insufficient.
The dachshunds grow up in the living room with care, love and acquired knowledge. The males used as sires have an FCI pedigree, while the females do not have pedigrees. The breeding program comprises six females: three wire-haired, one long-haired and two smooth-haired dachshunds.
When planning litters, careful, limited use of the females is central. At least twelve months are maintained between two litters from the same female, in accordance with the rules of the Raad van Beheer. Enjoyment of the dogs, passion for breeding and animal welfare are the most important guiding principles.
