LongTailMaines

LongTailMaines is a small Maine Coon cattery run as a hobby in Flüelen. It is deliberately kept manageable, because quality is more important to the breeding operation than having the largest possible number of animals. The work is therefore focused on the careful breeding of this cat breed. The health of the cats is of particular importance. LongTailMaines therefore has the animals regularly tested for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), polycystic kidney disease (PKD), and hip dysplasia (HD). These examinations are part of the hobby cattery’s approach to health. Flüelen is located on Lake Lucerne, in the heart of Switzerland and on the way to the Gotthard. In this setting, LongTailMaines is dedicated to Maine Coon breeding and combines a commitment to quality with regular health monitoring of the animals.
