La Forêt des Lyns Belgian Malinois breeder in Saulzais-le-Potier · France

Based in Vesdun, La Forêt des Lyns is a professional kennel devoted to three breeds of herding dogs: the Belgian Shepherd Malinois, the Belgian Shepherd Tervueren and the Altdeutscher Schäferhund. This focus thus brings together several herding profiles within the same structure. For the two varieties of Belgian Shepherd, the selection places particular emphasis on working abilities. The dogs’ aptitudes are assessed in practical conditions, in order to base breeding choices on observations made in the field and preserve the sought-after functional qualities. La Forêt des Lyns states that it is affiliated with the French club Union Cynophile Française. Some breeding dogs also take part in dog shows. These presentations make it possible to compare the dogs with the criteria of the standard and provide a complement to the assessments carried out as part of the work.
