Opdrættet i Egå is a hobby breeding program of Schipperke and completed DKK's breeder education in 2022. The breed has been part of the breeding program's everyday life since 2010. The two females live as family dogs and are described as affectionate, loyal and closely attached to their family, while a male dog is involved in the breeding work. The goal is to breed healthy, social, affectionate and breed-typical Schipperke puppies. Emphasis is placed on an inbreeding coefficient of 0 in the puppies, as well as on giving each litter a safe and caring start, with the puppies' well-being and development at the centre. The puppies are born and grow up in the home's kitchen-dining area, where they encounter the sounds and activity of everyday life from the beginning. Socialisation includes daily handling both indoors and outdoors, as well as encounters with children, adult guests, forest, beach, urban environments and car rides during their first eight weeks of life.
