The Honeybears breeding in Kalsdorf has been dedicated to the British Shorthair breed since 2006. Their cat breeding is registered with TICA; since December 2010, membership in TICACATS has also existed. The focus is on a planned breeding of this traditional cat breed.
In terms of color, Honeybears sets various priorities. These currently include Blue, Black, Lilac, Chocolate, Cream and Red. The spectrum is complemented by bi- and tricolor animals, so that several color variants of the British Shorthair are represented within the breeding.
With the breeding cats and stud toms used, Honeybears places value on documented health examinations. The animals are tested for PKD, HCM and leukemia. Only cats whose respective test results have been negative are considered for further breeding.
