Dantaran

Dantaran is a dog breeder based in Espoo, whose breeding work aims to produce healthy, balanced dogs that conform to the breed standard in appearance. In breeding, the dogs’ suitability for various activities is taken into account, with particular attention paid to preserving the breed’s natural hunting instincts. Dogs with traits characteristic of the breed are selected for breeding. The breeding program is based on three females, with whom the breeder participates in shows and practical hunting. The work combines an interest in the dogs’ structure, temperament, and working abilities. The puppies grow up in a home environment and are introduced early to ordinary household sounds, travelling by car, children, and game handling. They are handed over dewormed, microchipped, and examined by a veterinarian. New owners are also offered the opportunity to join puppy-owner memberships in Finnish retriever associations.
