HISTORY It was in the 1890s that Ferdinand Sekyrka created the first club (Federation of Wirehaired Pointers - Czech Barbu), whose primary objective was to protect the "original Czech dog". The Czech dog was then given the name [Czech Barbu](http://www.eleveurs-pedigree.com/fr/chiens/58323/france/f/breed:22/1) in 1944. Thanks to this organization, the Czech Barbu has since 1964 been recognized as an independent breed. ROLE The objectives of the CFBT are the improvement of the species, its promotion and the development of its use, while encouraging the breeding of this emblematic species of Czechoslovakia. Indeed, the Czech Barbu is among the original breeds of Czechoslovakia and Silesian Moravia, where it has always played a primordial role in hunting.
