Blemmelyng’s is a small, family-run kennel for Belgian Shepherd Dogs Groenendael in Ribnitz-Damgarten in northern Germany. The Groenendael has been part of the kennel for more than four decades. The dogs live as family dogs while also showing a sporting orientation. The puppies grow up in close contact with the family and are positively socialized with people from the very beginning. The focus of the breeding program is on healthy, family-friendly Groenendael that conform to the breed standard. Particular attention is paid to avoiding epilepsy within the breed. Blemmelyng’s has been registered as a kennel with Belgische Schäferhunde Deutschland e.V. under VDH/FCI since 2012. Knowledge of genetics and breeding is deepened through further training, while pedigrees are checked for possible diseases. Breeding dogs are not used until they are three years old and require, among other things, freedom from HD and ED, a DNA certificate, a temperament test and breeding approval.
