Airgialla

Airgialla is a dog kennel in Bogatynia devoted to the Altdeutscher Schäferhund. Registered with the FCI in late 2006, the breeding programme welcomed its first litter in 2008 and has since reached a third generation raised by the kennel. For more than fourteen years, Airgialla has combined breeding with training, work and showing. Its selection is centred on working dogs: breeding animals are used only after the age of three and must have recorded hip scores. The kennel excludes lines in which epilepsy has occurred. Health and aptitude are considered together in the choice of parents. Dogs used for breeding are assessed for hips and elbows, have a genetic profile and undergo thyroid testing; the parents are described as free from hip and elbow dysplasia. The kennel's dogs are also actively worked in hunting, and many puppies go to hunting homes across Europe and the United States.
