# Feeding your Serbian Hound well
Serbia
The Serbian Hound needs a complete, good-quality diet, adapted to its age, its size and above all to its level of activity. Its status as an active dog requires adjusting the ration according to actual energy expenditure rather than applying a fixed amount all year round.
A menu for every age
## Their needs change as they grow
- Puppy: Growth food adapted to the expected size, divided into three meals, without unnecessary calcium supplementation.
- Adult: Controlled ration in two meals, adjusted to ideal weight and actual activity.
- Senior: Digestible food, possibly less energy-dense, with joint and dental monitoring.
Which food?
## Kibble, wet food, or homemade meals?
Well-formulated premium kibble for an adult medium-sized dog generally suits very well, provided that its energy density matches its activity. A hunting dog in season or a very athletic subject may require a more energy-dense formula than an individual leading a calmer companion life.

## How much should you feed?
The daily quantity must be adjusted according to weight, body condition, age and physical expenditure. It is preferable to divide the ration into two meals to improve digestive comfort and facilitate dietary regularity.

### Never feed these foods
