Strengths and weaknesses

- Happy family dog: He combines affection, a desire to play, and good commitment to his household when he is well exercised.
- Very versatile: He can excel in retrieving, water activities, sports leisure, and in an active family life.
- Good resistance to cold: His double, dense coat protects him well in cool and humid climates.

- High activity needs: Without enough outings and regular stimulation, it can become difficult to manage.
- Not well suited to a sedentary lifestyle: This is not a dog made for a life that is too calm or for long days without activity.
- Health monitoring to keep an eye on: The breed requires vigilance regarding several orthopedic, ocular and endocrine predispositions.

Who is it for?

Ideal for

- Active owners: It is well suited to people who like walking, playing, going out often and sharing activities with their dog.
- Dynamic families: It fits well into a present and mobile household capable of devoting time to it every day.
- Water activity enthusiasts: Its attraction to water and retrieving make it an excellent companion for outdoor leisure activities.

Not recommended for

- Very sedentary households: There is a risk of lacking exercise, stimulation and balance on a daily basis.
- People often absent: This dog, very involved in household life, does not cope well with a prolonged lack of interactions and activities.
- Small spaces without real outings: Simple indoor access is not enough to meet its physical and mental needs.
