# Feeding your German Longhaired Pointer well

The German Longhaired Pointer needs a balanced, high-quality diet, adapted to its age, its size and its level of physical activity.
A menu for every age
## Their needs change as they grow
- Puppy: Choose a complete diet for the growth of large-breed dogs and regularly monitor the weight curve.
- Adult: Adjust energy intake to actual activity, particularly between hunting and rest periods.
- Senior: Reassess calories, digestibility and joint support with the veterinarian according to body condition and mobility.
Which food?
## Kibble, wet food, or homemade meals?
A complete diet formulated for large, active adult dogs is suitable, provided that its energy density and portions are adjusted to the actual effort. For the puppy, a formula adapted to the growth of large dogs is preferable.
