# Feeding your English Springer Spaniel well
United Kingdom
The English Springer needs good-quality food, consistent with its medium size and high activity level. Its ration must support effort without promoting excess weight, with simple monitoring of body condition and digestion.
A menu for every age
## Their needs change as they grow
- Puppy: Growth food adapted to the expected size, divided into three meals, without unnecessary calcium supplementation.
- Adult: Controlled ration in two meals, adjusted to the ideal weight and actual activity.
- Senior: Digestible food, possibly less energy-dense, with joint and dental monitoring.
Which food?
## Kibble, wet food, or homemade meals?
Premium complete kibble for active medium-sized adult dogs generally suits the breed very well. Depending on lifestyle, age and actual energy expenditure, a sport or maintenance formula may be more suitable than a standard food that is too rich or too poor.
