# How much does a German Rex kitten cost?
Germany
The German Rex is a rare breed, especially outside Germany, which limits the number of litters available and can lengthen the adoption waiting time. The price varies notably depending on the quality of the lineage, the pedigree, the cat’s destination, the care already provided and any possible travel expenses.
Purchase price
## It all depends on where your kitten comes from
It is advisable to favor a declared and transparent breeding cattery, able to present identification documents, the stated pedigree, health monitoring, socialization conditions and information relating to the parents. The rarity of the breed may lead to looking for a breeding cattery in another European country.

## A price that seems too good to be true?
- The rarity of the breed requires verifying the breeder’s identity and the authenticity of the documents before any payment.
- An abnormally low price or an immediate discount without a prior interview should prompt caution.
- The kitten must not be transferred without identification, a veterinary certificate, and health information.
- International transport costs and formalities may be added to the purchase price.
FAQ
## Your questions about price
Answers to common questions from prospective owners.
### What is the price of a German Rex?
The available reference generally indicates a purchase price between 900 and 1000 euros. However, rarity, pedigree, lineage, and travel expenses may alter the actual cost.
### What annual budget should be planned for its care?
The reference indicates annual care costs of approximately 300 to 500 euros for routine expenses. Veterinary emergencies, insurance, boarding, and certain care costs are not necessarily included.
### Why is the German Rex difficult to find?
The breed remains underdeveloped outside Germany and births are limited. It is therefore important to check the documents, lineage traceability, and breeding conditions rather than choosing solely based on availability.
