# Feeding your Chartreux well

The Chartreux’s diet must support solid musculature without promoting weight gain. Good-quality food, rich in animal proteins and suited to its age, its neutering, and its activity level, generally works very well for this breed.
A menu for every age
## Their needs change as they grow
- Kitten: A growth diet that is rich and highly digestible helps support the bone, muscle, and immune development of the young Chartreux.
- Adult: The ration must maintain muscle mass while limiting excess calories, especially in indoor or neutered cats.
- Senior: With age, it is useful to monitor weight, kidney function, hydration, and adjust the energy density of the diet.
