The long-standing connection to dogs began in the family environment with Chow Chows and later continued with trained German Shepherd Dogs. The breeding establishment received its first own dog at the age of 14. Since 1986, the Rottweiler has been the focus. Three years later, membership in the Allgemeiner Deutscher Rottweiler-Klub (ADRK) e.V. followed. All examinations were completed with a Rottweiler female; she also achieved titles as German VDH and Luxembourg Champion as well as fourth place at the 2003 World Dog Show in Dortmund. In September 2002, the zum Reichsgrafen von Velen kennel was founded and registered with the ADRK and the FCI. The breeding establishment particularly appreciates in the Rottweiler the combination of those positive character traits that distinguish this breed. It builds on many years of experience with dogs and a clear focus on the Rottweiler.
