The von der Teufelsküche kennel has been breeding Border Collies in Gschwend since 1985 and looks back on a history dating back to 1970.

The von der Teufelsküche kennel in Gschwend looks back on a history that began in 1970. Its name refers to the Teufelsküche, a sandstone formation in the nearby area. Among the first dogs in the breeding program was the Collie bitch Heika vom Bienenfleiß; Dingo and Dunja von der Teufelsküche descended from her line. Since 1985, the breeding program has been dedicated to the Border Collie, a breed that was still comparatively new to breeding in Germany at that time. The decisive factor was encountering these dogs at shows. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in the development of the kennel. Bella vom Thurnhof, the first Border Collie bitch, shaped the kennel’s further development. Her descendants Olga and Regina von der Teufelsküche became the foundation bitches of the Border Collie breeding program. The kennel is affiliated with the Club für Britische Hütehunde e.V. and continues its long-standing breeding tradition in Gschwend.
