The Rottweiler breeding program von der Terra Sigillata in Rheinzabern is oriented toward a family-suitable, steady-nerved, healthy and carefully socialized Rottweiler. The aim is to come as close as possible to this standard in breeding, without claiming perfection. The breeding program is affiliated with the Allgemeiner Deutscher Rottweiler-Klub (ADRK) e.V. Particular emphasis is placed on healthy parent dogs, a stable and balanced temperament, as well as good social behavior toward people and other dogs. Suitability for everyday life, sporting aptitude and an appealing appearance also factor into the selection. The dogs are encouraged according to their individual aptitudes and trained in IPO sport. The Rottweilers live as part of the family and are not kept in kennels. From the time they are raised, the puppies have contact with the pack and become familiar with normal household life. In doing so, they encounter dogs of various ages, many people, as well as other animals such as chickens and rabbits. This gives them a wide range of social and everyday experiences from an early age.
