The von der Emsmühle kennel in Gudensberg has been dedicated to the Irish Terrier for many years. The first litter was born in 1977; since then, enthusiasm for this lively and distinctive breed has shaped the work of the kennel. A bitch from the first litter established the kennel’s own breeding line, whose name can still be found in pedigrees today. The focus is on the goal of breeding healthy, self-confident and even-tempered Irish Terriers. The kennel works with a small number of home-bred dogs as well as selected lines from the breed’s country of origin. Linebreeding, careful selection and monitoring of the offspring are intended to preserve health, elegance and the breed-typical character in the long term. The Irish Terriers von der Emsmühle have been presented at major shows in Europe and have received numerous awards, including Best Terrier and Best in Show. Quality over quantity and support for dog owners are important principles. The kennel is affiliated with the Klub für Terrier von 1894 e.V. and is committed to responsible treatment of the breed.
