The cattery vom Zweitälerland in Waldkirch is dedicated to British Shorthair and British Longhair. As a small hobby cattery on the edge of the southern Black Forest, it pursues the goal of placing healthy, trusting and well-socialized kittens in suitable, responsible hands. It is a member of Katzenverein Leverkusen. Health care is of central importance. It includes veterinary check-ups, vaccinations, blood group determinations, fecal examinations and deworming. Breeding animals are tested for FIV, FeLV and PKD before being used for breeding; in addition, regular HCM ultrasound examinations are carried out from the respective age. The selection of stud cats is also based on these health aspects. The kittens remain under veterinary care until they leave, are microchipped and registered with Tasso. They move to their new homes at the earliest at 13 weeks, after having been vaccinated twice against cat flu, feline panleukopenia and chlamydia; further vaccinations are possible. Their equipment includes a European pet passport, pedigree, food package, photo documentation and a surprise toy.
