Vom Schöntaler Storchenturm breeds Mudi dogs with a focus on health, enthusiasm for work, and appropriate development of the offspring.

Klub für Ungarische Hirtenhunde e.V.

Vom Schöntaler Storchenturm is dedicated to breeding Mudis, a versatile Hungarian herding dog breed. The enthusiasm for these dogs arose from experiences in the Hungarian puszta: There, the kennel got to know their work, their social behavior in the pack, and their pronounced sense of direction. Since then, the Mudi as an active, demanding working dog has been at the center of attention. The kennel has been recognized by the VDH and FCI since the end of 2014 and is a member of the Klub für Ungarische Hirtenhunde e.V. The breeding bitches completed the examinations required for breeding, were presented at national and international shows, and received breeding approval. The first litter was born at the beginning of 2016; further litters followed in 2018 and 2020. The offspring develop in various areas of life: These include shows, agility, herding work, search-and-rescue dog work, and training as epilepsy alert dogs. Some dogs live as family dogs, while others are supported in sports or working fields according to their aptitudes. The kennel places importance on suitable families and on ensuring that interested parties take the Mudi’s active character into account.
