FCI affiliatedMember of a breed club Daniela and Helmut breed Hungarian Vizslas under the kennel name “vom Dreyer Wittsand” in Weyhe-Dreye. The breeding program belongs to the VUV, which is organized within the JGHV, the VDH and the FCI. The breeding goal is a healthy Vizsla with a good temperament and pronounced hunting instinct, who is both a reliable hunting companion and a family dog. The puppies grow up in the house and garden and are introduced to hunting from an early age: They become familiar with game, water, tracking lines and car rides, as well as sounds, smells and visual stimuli. At around four weeks, they move into a puppy house with climbing elements and toys; through play, they learn to communicate with other dogs from their mother, aunt and grandmother. Before they leave, they are accustomed to a collar and leash and fed raw (BARF), beginning with goat’s milk. At eight weeks, they have been dewormed several times, vaccinated, microchipped and DNA-registered, tested for the longhair gene and are not docked. The puppies generally go to hunters whose dogs are part of the family, who are encouraged to participate in trials.
