The BKH vom Baumwollschlößchen cattery in Berlin has been dedicated to breeding pedigree cats since 1996. The story began with a golden Persian cat; later, the British Shorthair joined the household, which remains the main focus of the breeding programme to this day. The preference for golden coat colours has been retained. The British Shorthair cats are bred in numerous colour varieties, including Colourpoint, Chartreux, Bicolor, Tricolor, Tabby and Golden. The Sacred Birman is also part of the breeding history. The breeding programme places value on the special, gentle character and appealing appearance of its cats. The cats grow up freely in the house in a family environment and are familiar with living alongside a dog. Even after the kittens move to their new homes, the breeding programme is happy to stay in contact with the new owners and offers holiday care for its own offspring. An attached specialist shop for pet food and accessories makes it possible to test new products in everyday life with the animals.
