Deutscher Teckelklub e.V. Vom alten Forstgarten is a small, family-run kennel for wire-haired miniature Dachshunds in Hohenaltheim. The dogs live in the house with a garden and receive early socialisation. The kennel is aimed at breed enthusiasts, those interested in hunting, and participants in examinations or shows. The health of the breeding dogs and their offspring is given high priority. Current eye examinations and genetic tests, including for crdPRA and OI, are part of the preventive health programme; patella examinations are also carried out. The kennel supports the health initiative of the Deutscher Teckelklub e.V. One to two litters are planned annually, so waiting times are possible. A meeting takes place before a reservation; visits to the puppies are only possible by prior arrangement, to protect the mother and litter. If rehoming becomes necessary, the kennel takes its dogs back or looks for a suitable home.
