DKK opdrætteruddannelse Thyholm's is a serious breeding program of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels with roots dating back to 1990, when the interest in the breed arose. The breeding program was started in 2000 and has since had approximately two litters annually. Thyholm's has completed DKK's breeder education and works with the breed with a focus on responsible breeding. The puppies grow up in a home environment with care and close contact with everyday life. They meet the other Cavaliers, become accustomed to the ordinary sounds of the house and gain experience with both the courtyard and garden. Short trips are also part of their early experiences, giving them a calm introduction to different surroundings. The aim is to breed beautiful and healthy Cavaliers with a good temperament. The breeding dogs are shown with good results and examined according to the applicable breeding restrictions. In addition, voluntary examinations of eyes and knees as well as MRI scans are prioritised. Since 2014, the dogs included in the breeding program have been MRI-scanned, preferably at several ages and across several generations.
