Deutscher Retriever Club e.V. Paper Mills’ Black Velvets is a kennel for Flat-Coated Retrievers in Sarlhusen, in the heart of Schleswig-Holstein. The dogs live together with the breeding operation on a fish farm and are trained and handled both for hunting and sporting activities. The kennel belongs to the Deutscher Retriever Club e.V. and bases its breeding as well as the training of the dogs on its demanding guidelines. Particular emphasis is placed on healthy, even-tempered dogs with reliable instincts, which are prepared for life in a family. The puppies grow up in the house with access to an outdoor enclosure. During their first eight weeks of life, they become familiar with important everyday situations and tasks. For the G-litter, the move to their new families is expected to take place from the beginning of August 2026.
