The kennel of Kajumba Shakarri in Köthel is dedicated to the Rhodesian Ridgeback and follows the FCI standard. The aim of the breeding program is to produce typey, strong-charactered dogs suitable for family life, showing and breeding. Health, temperament and breed-typical characteristics of the parent dogs were given particular consideration when planning the litter. The bitch used for breeding is described as athletic and feminine, with a dark red-wheaten coat and a correct ridge. The selected stud dog comes from Ireland and, according to the kennel, is distinguished by his appearance, colour and a friendly, intelligent character. Various health examinations are available for both parent dogs, including orthopaedic X-rays and genetic tests. The puppies grow up in the house and receive veterinary care, vaccinations, multiple dewormings and microchipping. When they leave from the ninth week of life, they receive an EU pet passport, vaccination records, breeding papers and a starter set. The rearing includes early imprinting and socialisation; feeding is partly based on the BARF principle.
