When searching for a large, rare dog, the choice fell on the Leonberger in the early 2000s. In 2002, the first representative of this breed moved in and established a lasting bond. Since then, the Leonbergers have been shown at exhibitions; trips into nature are also geared towards life with the dogs. Since 2020, the decision to breed Leonbergers themselves has matured. Löwe vom Lausitzer Seenland is a member of the Deutscher Club für Leonberger Hunde e.V. and combines enthusiasm for the breed with experience in dog sports, exhibiting and a daily life tailored to the dogs over many years.
