Deutscher Windhundzucht- und Rennverband e.V. (DWZRV) The Killarney’s Heartland kennel in Ellerhoop is dedicated to the Rhodesian Ridgeback. The journey with this breed began after moving to the countryside in 2000: At first, a black Labrador was part of everyday life at the kennel, before the first Ridgeback moved in in 2010. The first Ridgeback bitch became the foundation dam of the A-litter and gave the kennel name its lasting significance. Killarney’s Heartland is affiliated with the Deutscher Windhundzucht- und Rennverband e.V. (DWZRV) and looks back on a bond with its dogs that has grown over many years. The encounter with the Pharaoh Hound also had a lasting influence on the development of the kennel. After the first bitch of this rare breed moved in in 2012, the first litter in Germany followed in 2015. These experiences complement the history of Killarney’s Heartland and the special appreciation for different, distinctive dog breeds.
