The Honeybears cattery in Kalsdorf has been dedicated to the British Shorthair breed since 2006. Their cat breeding is registered with TICA; since December 2010, they have also been affiliated with TICACATS. The focus is on a planned breeding program for this traditional cat breed. Honeybears currently focuses on various colours. These include Blue, Black, Lilac, Chocolate, Cream and Red. The range is complemented by bicolour and tricolour cats, meaning that several colour varieties of the British Shorthair are represented within the cattery. For the breeding queens and stud cats used, Honeybears places importance on documented health examinations. The cats are tested for PKD, HCM and feline leukaemia. Only cats whose respective test results are negative are considered for further breeding.
