DKK opdrætteruddannelse Golden Schelander´s is a dog breeding kennel in Auning with Golden Retriever as its breed. The breeding is aimed especially at families and is based on education under the Danish Kennel Club, including DKK breeder education. The kennel places emphasis on responsibility for the dogs’ well-being and upbringing. The dogs live in rural surroundings with room for a natural and free dog life. Everyday life includes exercise, work and training, and the breeding also participates in the Danish Kennel Club’s shows. Work is done with behaviour so that the dogs can conduct themselves calmly in different situations and environments. The training includes, among other things, public transport, stairs, meetings with many different people and acclimatisation to loud noises such as thunder, fireworks and gunshots. After several years of observation and training, the kennel assesses that some puppies have a strong mental foundation that the families can continue to develop. One of the dogs works as an institutional dog in the Danish Prison and Probation Service.
