Flatfield’s ... breeds Flat-Coated Retrievers in Cassel according to the guidelines of the Deutscher Retriever Club e.V. and is recognized by the Verband für das Deutsche Hundewesen. The focus is on healthy, balanced and cheerful Dual-Purpose dogs that combine breed standard, enthusiasm for work and temperament. The breeding dogs are officially examined for hip and elbow dysplasia. In addition, the patella is checked, as are the eyes regularly for hereditary eye diseases such as RD, PRA, HC and Gonio. The puppies are born in the living area and grow up closely integrated into family life. After leaving the whelping box, the young dogs explore their prepared area; later, they also get to know the garden. Everyday noises, careful imprinting and socialization are intended to prepare them for moving into their new families from the eighth week onwards. Responsible families are sought who will provide the hunting-oriented Retriever with training, encouragement and suitable activities.
