Dark House of Gordons is a Gordon Setter kennel based in Bratislava, established in 2011. Its beginnings are closely linked to a first dog that introduced the kennel’s future breeder to hunting cynology and to a community of like-minded enthusiasts. This experience provided the starting point for the breeding project. That dog was valued for his work in the field, his conformation and healthy hips, and was initially intended to become the foundation of the kennel. Circumstances changed those plans, however, and no litter from him could be realised. His place in the story nevertheless remains central to the origins of Dark House of Gordons. A young female subsequently joined the household and had originally been expected to form a breeding pair with him. In remembrance of the first dog, her name was adapted to include Otis. Through this connection, the kennel preserves the memory of the dog whose qualities and influence inspired its creation.
