The breeding programme follows American-influenced lines and is a member of the Club für Britische Hütehunde e.V. The kennel name was protected in 2003 under the FCI and VDH. The breeding programme grew out of a long-standing enthusiasm for Collies, with the first puppies born in 2003. In 2006, according to the evaluation by Collie Revue, Country-Roads received the award for most successful novice breeder. The focus is on a free manner, a well-established temperament and natural elegance. The dogs live in the house as part of everyday life and receive plenty of closeness as well as varied activities. Their temperament and eagerness to work are encouraged in dog sports, such as agility, obedience, competitive dog sports, flyball and dog dancing. Active exercise also plays an important role for the offspring.
