HISTORY: Edouard Karel Korthals, known for having created the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon breed, founded the first club dedicated to this dog in 1888. The Griffon Club was a European club, and it was in 1901 that the French Club of the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon was created by Charles Prudhommeaux. In tribute to its creator, it was in 1951 that the club decided to associate his name with the breed and the club, which became the French Club of the KORTHALS Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. ROLE: The association aims to promote, protect and improve the Korthals Wirehaired Pointing Griffon breed, while respecting the breed standard. It organises morphological and behavioural selection trials and establishes health examination protocols. It also participates in the recruitment and training of the breed’s Judges. The club is committed to promoting Korthals Griffons and communicates about the breed standard, defined by the standards commission of the Société Centrale Canine (also by the Fédération Cynologique Internationale).
