Deutscher Teckelklub e.V. Botzensteiners breeds smooth-haired Dachshunds in standard and miniature sizes in Biesenthal. The breeding program follows the guidelines of the Deutscher Teckelklub, the VDH and the FCI. The dogs are not used for hunting, but are kept as family dogs. The Dachshunds live in the house and are integrated into everyday life. On the spacious property, they have access to an approximately 3,000 m² open area as a familiar exercise space. In addition, they explore the heath and woodland landscapes of the Biesenthal Basin in Barnim Nature Park in small groups. Permanent kennel housing is not an option for the breeding establishment. In the house, the individual groups have separate areas. Only during heat, for health reasons or to care for females with puppies are dogs temporarily housed separately from their group.
