Priority is given to health, temperament and breed type. The breeding dogs are tested for hip and elbow dysplasia, hereditary eye diseases, as well as prcd-PRA, CNM and EIC. For every mating, at least one parent is normal/clear for the hereditary diseases concerned. Dogs with allergies, thyroid or heart diseases, or epilepsy are excluded. A temperament test is a prerequisite. The puppies are born in the house and closely observed. Their weight is checked daily at first, and later at regular intervals. From about the fourth week, they have access to an outdoor run depending on the weather; until they leave, they sleep in the house. At nine weeks, they leave having been dewormed several times, vaccinated and with an RCD pedigree certificate. Stud dogs are available to reputable breeders.
