The kennel am Jungfernbach in Bad Mergentheim has been dedicated to German Spitz in the Mittelspitz size variety since 1998. The Verein für Deutsche Spitze e.V., founded in 1899, is listed as the association. The aim is a traditional house, farm and family dog with alertness and a close bond. The Mittelspitz dogs of the kennel have lush coats in brilliant white or orange and possess a manageable size. The firm double coat is described as easy to care for because it holds little dirt and hardly mats. The naturally short-haired muzzles and paws also make keeping them clean easier. In temperament, the dogs are considered friendly, people-oriented and loyal. A low hunting instinct and their strong orientation towards their caregivers are intended to make training and off-leash exercise easier. For over 18 years, dogs from the kennel were regularly used in visiting services at senior citizens’ homes.
